Clarkes Beach
Clarkes Beach sits just around from mainland Australia’s most easterly point, at Byron Bay. The area carries a layered history: known to the Indigenous Arakwal people as Cavvanbah — “the meeting place” — it has since been home to timber, whaling and primary-production industries, and a surfing and holiday destination since the 1960s.
